Alicia Briones is a Tri-City native who recently returned from Seattle after living there for 12 years. While in Seattle, she earned her Bachelors in Law, Societies, and Justice (with a focus on international law) at the University of Washington and her Masters in Criminal Justice (with a focus on restorative justice and victimology) at Seattle University. She spent a few years working at an ESL school on the Seattle Pacific University campus and several years at the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington (ACLU of WA) in the legal department. She decided to move back to the glorious TC in order to be closer to her family (and she has A LOT of family here!). Her two rescue dogs Atticus (a yellow lab/foxhound mix) and Arlo (a pebble-nosed pitbull), take up a lot of her time.

Before Alicia started her current jobs as a professor of Criminal Justice, and Reference Librarian, she was the Director for Team Read, a non-profit children’s literacy program for 1st through 3rd graders. She was also a fire data analyst with the Kennewick Fire Department. She enjoys reading 100 books a year, serving on boards (most recently she was on the Safe Harbor homeless teen shelter board and in Seattle she was on Harborview’s Neurological Services Unit board) and volunteering her time with various political and social justice causes such as The Northwest Justice Project. She is a visual and textile artist, makes her own jewelry/accessories, and has traveled the world including visiting the UK, Indonesia, Peru, Thailand, and more. Her theater work includes stage-managing, production management, set design, prop/weapon design, and she wants to learn lighting and sound design as well. Alicia is also an avid gamer (she loves RPGs especially), she has edited several books for published authors, and loves to cook for anyone who loves to eat (let me feed you!).
